BBL HERO from Sciton, uses intense pulsed light to target the pigment within the skin. It flashes specialized light as it is quickly moved across the treatment area. The pigment is initially darkened, helping you know that you had an optimal treatment. Within the next several days, your body’s natural healing process will remove the pigmented cells and replace them with fresh, new, undamaged cells.
Each flash of the light produces a feeling of warmth. Most patients easily tolerate the feeling without needing any anesthetic numbing cream.

Most clients need 2-3 initial corrective treatments to achieve maximal clearance of unwanted pigmentation and redness from the skin. These results are then best maintained with 3 Forever Young maintenance treatments per year. A clinical study1 conducted at Stanford between 2004 and 2013 showed that regular treatment with BBL had a significant anti-aging effect. Two to four yearly treatments were given, and at the end of the nine-year study, the patients did not look any older. They either looked younger or the same as they did when they began the study. It was concluded that regular treatments with broadband light significantly slows down the skin’s aging process. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Typically, there is no need for a topical anesthetic. You may feel a quick, warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Treatments are comfortable and safe. A clear gel will be applied to the skin. Then, the BBL energy is delivered with a cooled applicator so there is minimal or no discomfort. During the treatment, some patients experience a warm or stinging sensation in the treatment area.
Treatment time will vary depending upon the size of the area treated and your hair and skin type. Typically, a smaller area only takes a few minutes while a large area can take 15 minutes or longer. Immediately following your treatment, you may experience some redness that should go away within a few hours. A few days to a week after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair.
