Dr. Denise Garcia

Dr. Denise Garcia was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She received her Bachelor of Science in engineering degree from Arizona State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then attended medical school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating with highest honors.

Dr. Garcia and her husband live in Gilbert with their three children.

Education & Experience

After completing an internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, Dr. Garcia completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, where she served as Chief Resident her senior year. After practicing general ophthalmology for four years at Henry Ford Hospital, she did an ASOPRS-approved two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. She moved back to Arizona in 2009 and has been practicing in the Valley of the Sun ever since.

Dr. Garcia is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Her area of expertise encompasses the management of abnormalities of the eyelids, lacrimal (tear) system, and orbit (the bony cavity surrounding the eye), skin care and cosmetic rejuvenation of the face. She also performs Botox injections and has experience with a variety of dermal fillers.

Anne Renkema

Anne is a native Arizonan! After raising 3 sons, she decided to return to school and in 2009 earned an Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. She subsequently worked as a front office supervisor for a busy ophthalmic medical practice before becoming the office manager at Desert Eyesthetics when it opened in 2016.
Anne lives in Gilbert and when not working enjoys traveling, hiking, yoga, and most of all spending time with her family!

Rose Atrian

Rose was born in Ft. Huachuca and raised in San Manuel, Arizona.  She attended Tucson College where she graduated a certificate program with honors as an Optometric Assistant and Optician.  She worked in a wide variety of ophthalmic specialties including cataract, glaucoma, and retina, before finding her true passion of Oculoplastics. She has worked very closely with Dr. Garcia since 2010. Rose is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Rose lives in Gilbert, AZ.  She has 3 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren whom she adores.  She enjoys family time, running, and watching the Raiders play.

Susanna Stapleton

Susanna was born and raised in Arizona. She began her career in the medical field working in a dermatology practice where she discovered Aesthetics and her passion to help others achieve healthier and more beautiful skin was born! Having dealt with severe acne herself and remembering how problematic skin can make one feel very self-conscious, she decided to go back to school graduating in 2005 as a Licensed Aesthetician. She continued to work closely with dermatologists which helped expand her knowledge of many skin conditions and proper treatments to better help patients. Susanna is a certified medical laser technician, has extensive skill with PCA, ZO and Jan Marini peels and has vast experience with medical grade skin treatments. She is a trained HydraFacialist, Lash Lift artist and microneedling technician. She originally joined Desert Eyesthetics in 2017. She is a mom of 4, enjoys cooking and loves spending time away in the mountains with her family. 

Kylie Maas

Kylie was born and raised in the Midwest and recently moved to Mesa, Arizona. She graduated from Capri College as an Aesthetician and began her career working in a dermatology practice in Chicago, IL. Once she arrived in Arizona, she continued her passion and love for skincare and graduated in June 2022 from SAA Laser Institute in Mesa. She joined Desert Eyesthetics in July 2022.

Kylie enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, spending time with her animals and her family in the Midwest.

Delaney Herrera

Delaney was born and raised in Alburquerque, New Mexico. She moved to Arizona with her family in 2012 and has been living here since. She began her medical career in high school by attending Evit to become a certified veterinary assistant. After graduating high school, she attended Chandler Gilbert Community College and Maricopa Community College to pursue her passion with social work.

She has over 3 years’ experience with high volume customer service and recently joined our team in June. in her free time, she enjoys taking her dogs to parks, going to the lake with her family, and roller skating with her sisters.

    This past year I was diagnosed with an infiltrative basal cell carcinoma on the upper left eyelid. I was referred to Dr. Garcia who began the process of biopsy, referral for Moh's surgery and then reconstructive work for my eyelid. From start to finish I felt I was in the competent hands of a caring professional. After the Moh's surgery which was more extensive than anticipated, I was sure my eyelid could not be repaired. A few hours after the Moh's Surgery I saw Dr. Garcia for reconstructive surgery and was immediately reassured my eyelid could in fact be repaired. To date, despite the loss of eyelashes, my eye looks normal, and no sign of cancer recurrence.  If the need should ever occur again, there is no question that Dr. Garcia will be my choice. Finally I went to see Dr. Garcia about an “eyelid lift.” During my visit, Dr. Garcia explained the procedure, and answered all of my questions.
